Interviewed by: Brandon Nolta, Pacific Book Review

December 2011
PBR: Today we
have the pleasure of being with Joshua McDowell, author of The Tools You Need To Be Successful:
Never Give Up, Never Back Down, a book dealing with a family
divorce. Thank you for taking your time
to join us.
JM: Thank
you for having me. I’m so glad to be having this interview right now.
PBR: First,
let me express my sympathies for what you unfortunately had to go through to be
in a position to write this book. What
were your reasons for bringing this to publication?
JM: Well
it’s like this; I wanted to teach other men regardless if they were married or
not that yes you can win custody of your child and yes you deserve every
opportunity to be with your child regardless if you’re not with your child’s
mother. I wrote this book in hopes to help others from my experiences dealing
with these issues. This is a serious issue that everyone seems to overlook but
this subject is very fatal to most.
PBR: How can reader’s best use your book in their
own custody battles?
JM: People
can use this book to help them with their own custody battles because there’s
so much information and paper work that they will need to know, and what paper
work to file? And when they need to file it? I give my readers a step by step
guide in what is going to happen and how they can handle it from my experience.
I put this saying in my book because to me it is important. Anything worth
having is always worth the fight.
PBR: Your book specifically dealt with your
experiences in the Ohio judicial system; do you expect to expand your work in
future editions to other states?
JM: Yes, yes
I do. I plan on taking this book as far as God lets me. I plan on changing this
world for the better one family at a time.
PBR: What
plans do you have to further develop the tools and approaches outlined in your
book?
JM: Right
now I’m in the process of trying to set up events where I can be a motivational
speaker and help encourage those parents to don’t stop fighting and for them
not to give up. I want to help so bad it’s just unfortunate that I don’t have
the money to do so. My goal was to travel the world to be a motivational
speaker but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. I am now a single
father and at one time when I was fighting for my son at one time I felt like
giving up and walking away, but I didn’t. I stayed and I stuck it out. Our
children are our future.
PBR: Having written one book, are you planning to
pursue a career as an author? If so, what topics will you be writing about in
the future?
JM: That’s a
great question. Being a self-published author and having little to no money.
I’m trying to do the best that I can with what I’ve got. I would love to know
what being an author feels like but I guess time will tell. I love writing and
I love to help others.
PBR: Tell us about your website.
JM: My web
page is www.xlibris.com/TheToolsYouNeedToBeSuccessful.html
PBR: Will you expand your presence on YouTube into further videos or a channel?
JM: I also did a commercial on YouTube. My readers can look me up under Joshua McDowell commercial.
PBR: We wish you the best of success with your
book, and again thank you for taking your time to join us.
