Synopsis
Immigrants in flight from Hitler, the Szekelys were not part of the huddled masses associated with Ellis Island. They were highly educated; their gifted son Zoltan had been a concert pianist since age eight. Yet by a twist of fate, Zoltan stands accused of murdering his former mistress, Dorothea, with evidence seemingly beyond a reasonable doubt. Only his estranged wife, Jill, is in a position to prove his innocence. But Jill has become disillusioned with the marriage and is dubious about risking possible danger in his behalf. When growing hints of his innocence finally propel her into action, she uncovers a long-standing plot surrounding Dorothea, the sort of plot in which she herself might easily have become involved.
