Attention : Ce livre est écrit en français et devrait être lu seulement par les gens qui comprennent la langue française.

Attention: This book is written in French and should only be read by people understanding the French language.

Jean-Pierre Mulot is a very precise poet, lean and articulate as he writes about politics, basic human needs and the objects of everyday life in his French book titled, POÈMES - RÉFLEXIONS  EXISTENTIELLES.  In it he writes with a high sensitivity to the human conditions of life, however with a sense of abruptness. Jean-Pierre Mulot maintains a revealing warmth and intimacy in his writing.  The reader is invited into his universe, as Jean-Pierre Mulot assumes the role of a tour guide of his thoughts.  His writing is full of allegories, traveling back and forth in time.  As the reader is brought into Jean-Pierre Mulot’s time and space, there becomes a sense of indestructible hope in many of his poems; despite his comic absurdity of life at times.  He stresses the difficulty of survival and continuation of existence while simultaneously suffering the sensation of loss.

Jean-Pierre Mulot’s poems are short stories of slices of life, many of which have their own inherent lessons.  His poems, in many instances, are terse reflections, discourses and lessons on human qualities such as regret, love for a woman, remembrances and brotherhood.  He writes, a dedication about the socially poor, the left-over’s of society; those scarified into the lower classes of our society.

There is a natural and easy flow from the reading of one poem to the next, thus underlining the fact that you have entered the intimate and suggestive world of the poet.  Simultaneously symbolic characters such as the army general, the lover, the beggar, and others intrude into the text to bring poetic interaction and reveal a multitude of emotions very distinct and cleverly translated into verses. This is a world where past experiences, nature, sensations, characters, human conditions and the excesses of political power are all articulated within a soft, powerful, varied and enchanting imageries.

After reading this book, I read it again.  It is the type of book that commands your time and compels you to absorb the underlying reason of logic within the meanings and the interpretations of Jean-Pierre Mulot impressions.  All in all it is a beautiful collection of poems to read, albeit written in French.  It has a variety of subject matter, all beautifully embellished with interesting mental images, commanding a delicate style of writing with his unique choice of words and revealing an underlying theme of hope.  Although semantic translation from the original French text to other languages will unfortunately cause many thoughts to be inadvertently altered, I would encourage POÈMES - RÉFLEXIONS EXISTENTIELLES  to be translated into English, as well as possibly other languages to broaden its reading audience.
