Redecorating a room?  Or just love experimenting with color and design?   Rooms to Remember: The Classic Interiors of Suzanne Tucker is the perfect book to read.  This book makes the task seem a little less daunting. It starts by explaining how to pick one or two themes to help you set the style for the room you want to make over. It also guides you through the planning process (setting a budget, research, making a schedule, etc). There is even a section in the back of the book that lists resources (stores & suppliers) for your decorating needs.

The cover is sturdy and beautiful; the pages are glossy, visually pleasing, and well organized.  Although the photographs are the focal point of the book, the information given on the pages is well-written and concise. This guide gives beginners all the basics and more intermediate designers plenty of fodder for fresh projects for your creative process.  If you're looking for beautiful, personalized designer style made practical for real, lived-in homes, then this is the book you'll want to read.

It has sections dedicated to each part of your home (entryway, living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and children's rooms). It explains the key pieces that are needed and how to accentuate your space. There are definitions for the different types and styles of furniture and the best uses for them.  It includes ideas for both large and small spaces.

Rooms to Remember: The Classic Interiors of Suzanne Tucker not only excelled with their advice, but the quality of the book itself makes it practically worthy of coffee table book status. A few of the best aspects of the book's own design are:

* A thoughtful and well conceived layout.

* An excellent graphic design that highlights rather than distracts from text and images.

* A superb use of color throughout the text focuses the reader’s attention on details.

If you're looking for beautiful, personalized designer style made practical for real, lived-in homes, then this is the book you'll want to read.
