If you think you know everything about nutrition and food, you might want to read In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto. This book is about our personal relationship with what we eat. "Eat Food, Not Too Much, Mostly Plants" is Pollan's mantra for our decision-making process when it comes to what we eat. This is not a prescriptive diet book, but a philosophy of eating meant to counter the cult of "nutritionism" that has a strangle hold on our nation.
Michael Pollan eloquently shows us in his book the dangers of processed foods and the harm it does to our bodies. Pollan also educates us why so many Americans have been tragically misled by both our government and food manufacturers when it comes to the quality of our food supply. Money rules here, and unethical food manufacturers are lining their pockets at the sake of Americans' health. Having read Pollan's book, I am a much wiser consumer.  If you care about your health I recommend reading this book.
