Synopsis

Everyone thought Jamie had it all – a career, dreamy fiancé, ‘Save the Dates’ already sent. But in the space of an evening she made the most impulsive, doubt-filled decision of her life to chuck it all, to give up a life she knows for the unknowns of another and do something she’s never done – venture some of the most exotic places on this earth, and do it alone. She boards a plane in London with a hopelessly overstuffed backpack, a whirlwind itinerary and quickly discovers what a wide-eyed, clueless virgin she is with her first plunge into other cultures. But then she dives headlong into the life of a freely-wandering gypsy soul juggling different cultures, adventures and misadventures, pastoral, humorous and dangerous encounters, and romantic fancy while living as most people have only ever dreamt. Jamie’s story is more than an exotic experience of a lifetime. It’s the story of a young woman’s survival, recovery and revelation through an epic journey that changed her life.

About the Author

Prodigal Girl is my debut novel, first of a planned series. I’ve always dabbled here and there with writing, but what I needed most was a great story. I found it in the journals of a young British-American woman who gave up everything, or so people believed, to follow her dream of traveling the world. This story’s setting is in the early-90’s, but she’s still traveling to this day – 58 countries so far. Lots more stories to tell!
