“Chosen: Chronicles of an Alien Abductee” is Byron Lacy’s firsthand account of events that many have viewed as being legend and folklore. Lacy’s encounters with extraterrestrials show that there is life beyond the realm we live in. Lacy talks about his first encounter with aliens, future visits, as well as the response from his family and friends when he begins to confess about these encounters. Lacy allows himself to be vulnerable and takes a large risk in detailing his encounters. “Chosen: Chronicles of an Alien Abductee” is a book that challenges common theories and conceptions about life beyond the skies.

Byron Lacy writes with a conversational air, it feels as if the reader is sitting beside Lacy listening to his story of visitations. He has a total reveal of details to his readers and does not leave anything out. He allows readers into a very personal and intimate aspect of his life. While he clearly understands the gamut of commentaries that may arise with his confessions, it is evident that Lacy feels his story needs to be told. He takes an experience that should have been terrifying, and turned it into something positive; using that experience to bring light to a subject that is generally pushed under the rug.

While Bryon Lacy is giving readers his personal account, he remains bias and does not make suggestions that any reader could become an abductee. He describes his first experience with a sense of curiosity rather than fear. Each encounter is described with such clarity and depth. The book includes journal entries from different time periods describing each event and the feelings associated with them. It is interesting reading the different descriptions of the alien beings that Lacy encountered, along with their disguises to help Lacy cope with their appearances. Along with encounters with extraterrestrials, Lacy describes experiences with seeing Stargates while upon spaceships.  He had to learn how to cope emotionally and mentally with his multiple encounters with the visitors. Lacy talks about a different sort of grief process when trying to deal with being chosen. He discusses how depression and anxiety can take over and shape an abductee’s self-worth.

This book is one that is touching, inspirational, and very difficult to put down. He captivates his audience from the very first encounter all the way to the end of his story. Lacy’s memoir has the ability to change the viewpoint of those who disbelieve in the presence of extraterrestrials. There are some elements that seemed too extravagant to be possible, but one needs to read this memoir with the idea that anything is possible. It takes a lot of strength and bravery to open up and confess experiences such as these to the world. Byron Lacy’s memoir displays most everything seen through television and sci-fi literature, which could possibly be true. He provides a firsthand account of the visitations of aliens in an educational and instructional way.

This book is perfect for audiences who are interested in the UFO and extraterrestrial world. It would also be a good read for those who are skeptical about the presence of extraterrestrials. “Chosen: Chronicles of an Alien Abductee” will definitely change your viewpoint and will cause readers to question the possibility of beings beyond our world.
