Mysteries remained unsolved in the Aldrin System, which lay at the edge of the Bearilian Federation. The cultures of the various planets had simply disappeared, leaving behind decaying remnants of their civilizations. When Ti and Babs boarded the Dream of Night to travel to the system, bears were still working to uncover its treasures, including the famed Key of Epoch, which would provide a easy passage between time and space. The young couple, though, faced more immediate concerns.

Ti, an officer in the Special Branch, and Babs, a Regent, served as bait for the Orion Pirates and the Overa Cartel, both of which were hunting bears from their clan. Trained warriors, the couple fought to re-establish the rule of law in the area. When not addressing the various wrongs that they encountered during their travels, Babs and Ti conducted business negotiations and sold precious gems during extravagant parties. Indeed, their trip so far had been full of danger as well as satisfying business transactions.

The perils that they would face had only begun, though. With the help of Annabelle Rosa, a part dragon and healer, they investigated deadly cults and clues to the mysteries of the Aldrin System. An unexpected alliance with gypsies aided in this quest. Their dedication to the Creator and their sense of morality—along with their love for one another—would sustain them through their greatest challenges when they faced a great foe in what could be their final battle.

In The Crossroads of Space and Time, Charles and Irene Nickerson provide readers with a unique, action-packed tale. Although this book is a continuation of the story that began in Andreas Prime: The Legend of Home, even a reader new to the series will find this book an accessible and thrilling adventure. Blending elements of traditional science fiction—some will be especially familiar with fans of the Star Trek series—as well as fantasy and military thriller, the Nickerson’s book is an interesting take on these beloved genres. This novel is more than an enjoyable read, however; the Nickerson’s have woven serious themes such as faith and honor into the storyline, leaving the attentive reader with much to consider after finishing the book.

Charles and Irene Nickerson’s The Crossroads of Space and Time is an uncommon contribution to well-explored genres in that even those well-acquainted with similar books will find this to be a surprising read. As with all good science fiction, the Nickerson’s book is one that explores universal themes within a fantastic and futuristic setting. Although this book could appeal to readers of any age or background, young Christian adults would definitely enjoy its characters and their emphasis on faith and family. No matter the reason for reading the Nickerson’s The Crossroads of Space and Time, readers of all kinds will find this to be a fun and interesting novel.
