Heaven, a glorified eternal home that many are looking forward to returning to after their lives’ journey comes to an end. As slightly morbid of thought, who wouldn’t want to return to a place that’s the complete opposite of the Earth home we’ve all come to know? Everyone knows that our time here on Earth is a temporary one, so we shouldn’t get caught up with what is happening but what to look forward to once we close our eyes for the final time. Why is it that everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one is ready to die? If you have no clue what is there just beyond the end of life’s veil, it would be a scary thought to seek a possible void or sense of darkness.

The Bible is the only resource that can reference and provide a visual image as to what awaits each of us if we choose to remain humble servants of God the Father, The Son, and Holy Spirit. The true question everyone should ask themselves if they can look back on how far they’ve come, can anyone honestly admit to living a life entirely dedicated to God’s word? With the new motto of “you only live once,” which is very true, just not discussed with the same drive to “you only have one life to live for God’s redemption.” Other people cannot explain something they have no knowledge about and we’re not allowed to leave the parables of the Bible to our own understanding. We are to follow wholeheartedly to become the individual in God’s image, as for forgiveness of all sins and do a complete 360 degrees on changing our lives in preparation for our true home in heaven. Does this offer a bit of convincing that we are not of this world, just in it?

In Heaven: Can I Go? author Joyce Yates goes into depth as to what the purpose of life is in terms of what everyone’s end goal should be. The message the reader is receiving is in understanding that heaven is where they should hope to be after life is no more. We’re encouraged to live a peaceful, helpful, and happy life but to also keep in mind the studies of the Bible so we can get ready for heaven, one day. The method used by the author didn’t involve convincing or persuasion, she just genuinely cares for everyone’s salvation.

There is so much more to life and our journey is the ultimate test of our humanity in discovering our worth in receiving the gift of eternal life offered by God. The Bible was written as our guide in keeping our soul aligned with Holy teachings and by detailing what the prize could be in the end helps to give an even more reason to follow through. By reading this book, you’ll learn that heaven is real, as everyone knows that something happens after life. Of course, no one knows what happens immediately after, but many individuals have experienced a glimpse of what is yet to come from being brought back to life. There are several instances where the book speaks to the reader’s soul, telling them to get prepared, similar to when the Bible states to get your house in order. Reading and understanding that everything we’re experiencing in this waking life is all temporary, just proves how well of behavior we should be. We are being watched, our actions documented as well as how we treat others, there is no better way to shape up and get our acts together.

This book spoke through to my very core and it was the best encouragement to have from another human being that only wants what’s best for humanity. Even though I have a bit of understanding that heaven is real and a final destination I hope to see, one day, it was inspiring to read the words of God’s wisdom from a different perspective. It pointed out without sugar coating that we all will reach the end of our journey and the way we carried out life is what determines if we’ll get into heaven. I enjoyed reading the well-written words of author Joyce Yates because she made sense without casting judgment towards her readers. I felt like I was being taught through a positive choice of words from a mother figure who expresses her concern without shame.

In reading this book, it made me reflect my current situation, glance back at all that I’ve been through, as well as take a glimpse into a possible future with the question of, have I figured out my true purpose? Invoking such thoughts only brings up the subject that we are not perfect, yet God’s only Son, Jesus is waiting for us to change ourselves to be embraced into heaven’s gates. Prayers, as suggested, and seek to be a better version that would be accepted into the Holy Kingdom. Heaven: Can I Go? an excellent book I highly recommend.
