Pacific Book Award Rules

Pacific Book Awards accept manuscripts, published and unpublished books, ebooks, audio books, comic books and poetry books that fall into one of our 60 genre categories. Your entry must be an original work for which you own the applicable rights. This is a unique contest that celebrates excellence in presentation. We consider cover and interior design, promotional text, aesthetic components and other factors that demonstrate outstanding presentation in addition to the writing. We accept fiction and non-fiction books in a wide range of topics and categories including mystery, romance, business, self-help, memoirs, inspiration, and many more.

Manuscripts must be complete and formatted double space, and numbered in the header and footer. Your manuscript must be complete and proofread. A spell check is not enough; please carefully review your entire manuscript. It doesn’t have to be as polished as a published book, but you don’t want the reader to be pulled out of your story by an excessive amount of typos. We do not have a minimum or maximum word count restriction. However, we do not accept erotica (contact us for exceptions or if you are unsure about your book). We do not have a publication date requirement for published books and we accept submissions from all over the world as long as the work is in English.

We will notify each entry of the package’s receipt via email and will announce the winning entries on our website . Because of the high volume of entries, we can only respond to email inquiries. Winners in each category will be notified by email and on the web site.

All sales are final. There are no refunds. Only appropriate submissions will be eligible to enter the contest. Pacific Book Awards reserves the right to refuse any material that it finds inappropriate, not reflecting contest rules, or reflecting negatively upon the contest or its rules.
