God’s Love is a benevolent force which exists for everyone willing to accept it into their hearts, minds and lives. For those acceptors, It offers the elements of a blessed, fulfilling life ripe with the omnipresence of constituents like; love, peace, healing, hope and fearlessness. Celebrating her experiences of God’s Love and Divine presence within her everyday life, author Cecilia Hill gives readers pause for thought and contemplation with an assimilation of her poems, introspections and observations aptly titled, The Benevolence Within.

Brimming with intelligent and thoughtful prose, this book presents readers with a gracious dedication to Christian life and God’s divine presence as experienced by the author. After experiencing many hardships in her life, the author found herself wanting a better life and according to her, when she accepted God into her life, things changed for the better on many levels. Accordingly, Hill transports readers into a hallowed space with her mix of written sentiments; some are poetry, while other works are testimonies filled with observations and appreciation. Each piece of her writing offers readers various themes of authentically compelling narratives which easily create that all important connection between the author and reader.

To begin with, her soulfully touching poems are provocative and deeply loving tributes fortified with heartwarming expressions of gratitude, faith and love. Albeit, all of Mrs. Hill’s poems are essentially intriguing, however, there are a few that really stood out for me like; The Match, Being Loved, A Chocolate Realm, A Selfie and especially, Our President. I found each poem to be exceptionally earnest and emotionally compelling. Furthermore, what particularly stands out within Hill’s writing is the honesty, clarity and natural flow to her works. There is a great deal of which shines through in her wisdom marked anecdotes which espouse her keen observations, hopes and concerns. In this particular aspect of her writing, I found Angel Prep, An Angel Voice, Another Day, A Short Story, Moments of Wonder, and The Times, each having a particular appeal to me.

The Benevolence Within is a great overall read; a nurturing of the soul that held many notable pieces within that I could completely appreciate. With this book, author Cecilia Hill has created an inspired and reverent collection of her written works, all of which duly express the benevolence of God’s love and will in her life. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to others who can appreciate good heartfelt Christian writing.
