Deep in Serenity is an exciting erotic novel which readers will love as author DP Jones has written a steamy book that’s a fun guilty pleasure. Deep in Serenity is the story of Dwayne, a chef in a college that gets an inviting note from a student, Serenity. Though there’s a rule against college employees and students fraternizing, Dwayne and Serenity soon start a passionate love affair. During the excitement of their forbidden relationship, a surprise from Serenity changes their relationship forever. This is a provocative and thrilling novel.
Deep in Serenity captures the nuances of love so well throughout the novel. Though there are many torrid love scenes, the book also has many tenderly romantic moments between Dwyane and Serenity, like a box of memories they shared together. Dwayne and Serenity are complicated characters in Deep in Serenity. Dwayne is a confident man when he’s with Serenity, but is always haunted by the paranoia of getting caught breaking the rules by romancing Serenity. Serenity is a sex-positive woman who loves Dwayne and is open to polyamorous encounters with him, but her fluid sexuality complicates their relationship. Jones’ writing is eloquent and flowery, which is a refreshing change from other erotica books. His description of Serenity’s beauty and her caramel skin adds to the poetic language in the novel. It’s also a refreshing change to see an African-American woman as the object of desire in a romance novel. Though Jones uses poetic language to describe Serenity and the love scenes between Serenity and Dwayne, he also adds modern slang that keeps the tone of the book youthful as well.
The setting of Colorado adds to the romantic flavor of the novel. The vivid description of the snow-capped mountains and the psychedelic adventures Dwayne and Serenity have in Colorado bring more depth and intrigue to Deep in Serenity. Jones lives in Colorado and captures the essence of his adopted hometown. Deep in Serenity’s sexy love scenes and strong language make it a strictly adults-only novel. Fans of E. L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey will love this book. Readers of urban erotica authors like Zane and Eric Jerome Dickey will like Deep in Serenity, too. Jones’ writing would also be best for readers of romance novels with an edge. Deep in Serenity is a book that will make readers believe in love at first sight and inspire them to take chances.
