When it comes to scenes of scintillating sexual proclivity, author Suzanne Eglington has got the knack. And with her newest release, She’s Got the Jack, the fourth installment in her erotically charged romance series, The Kate and Robert Chronicles, she once again brings readers to the pinnacle of lust; exposed within a narrative which challenges the sensibilities as well as continues the provocative love story of sexually-adventurous, married couple Robert and Kate Beckham.

Encompassing the common – and not so common – experiences of a married couple, author Suzanne Eglington forwards this robust tale that candidly explores and fantasizes on marriage, sexuality, and human nature. Told from the perspective of central character, Kate Beckham, this time the story takes Kate and controlling husband, Robert, deeper into unexplored territory as Kate’s eccentric, tough and loving uncle Jack re-enters their lives bearing many surprises including a psychic wife, strange herbal drinks and life changing revelations.

Meanwhile, Kate continues to grow both as Robert’s wife, who is wholly committed to learning about completely satisfying her macho man, while continuing to uncover what secrets he holds on to. As it turns out, her earnest efforts also lead to her simultaneously becoming more comfortable with herself and she begins to show her husband a more demanding side, demonstrating a sexy willingness to explore previously uncharted sexual territory, which leads to some intense scenes of sexual abandon. On the other hand, Robert, still super-sexy and super-controlling, begins specialized training under Uncle Jack while continuing his development as a dutiful and incredibly devoted husband, learns to let his wife take the lead, occasionally.

Overall, I do enjoy author Eglington’s talent as an erotic romance writer. She knows how to write an escapist reader’s dream. Both Robert and Kate are perfectly imperfect characters immersed in a setting replete with intrigue, drama, self-discovery, plot twists and sundry sexual escapades, making this an entertaining and a delightfully indecent read. However, I do have some minor points of contention, concerning crazy Uncle Jack. Albeit, he is supposed to be an edgy character whose wily and eccentric presence does breathe interesting twists of life into this narrative, however I personally found some of the antics he pulled to be off-putting. For example I feel it indecent of his giving an herbal drink to Kate and another wife, which not only knocks them out in the gym so their husbands can practice undistracted, but also enhances their libido so when the women wake up they will be sexually aggressive with their husbands. I also found the backstory to how Uncle Jack’s wife eventually got to be with him somewhat disturbing; she drugged him when she was sixteen to have sex with him because of her love for him. As a fan, these events left me feeling conflicted on the one hand, but also intrigued on the other, as author Eglington does interesting things with these provocative characters.

Overall, that being said and contentions aside, I do recommend reading She’s Got the Jack and the preceding books in the series, they are worth the read while leaving indelible memories of Kate and Robert.
