The subject of past lives and what that exactly means for the world as we know it has been a curiosity many have had throughout time. It is a fascinating subject and makes you think life may not be as full of coincidences as we once thought. The exploration of past lives and its effects on our current lives, as well as the existence of soul mates and how this all impacts our world history, is what we get to explore in author Diane Marie Taylor’s book, I’m On Assignment!: An Alternate View of Past Lives, The Impact on Our Current Lives, Soul Mates, World History, and the Akashic Records.
As told in the Foreword by the author’s ex-husband, it was their initial meeting which felt utterly kismet and far from coincidental that ultimately led to Taylor’s passion project and views on the meaning of past lives and how it affects our society. The feeling many of us have had before of “Have I met this person before?” or “They seem really familiar to me,” is not as simple as it may seem. According to Taylor, there is far more to it and it is all about how our past lives have interconnected us with one another.
In this book, the Akashic Records are also referenced including in the title itself. For those who don’t know what that is, it is often referred to as “a universal archive or library of all past, present, and future events, thoughts, and experiences.” Personally, I find the concept extremely fascinating and how Taylor is able to detail this in her own writings, immediately captures the reader’s attention and keeps it there. The knowledge of these studies is something the author feels strongly about passing onto others so they can better understand themselves, particularly when they are feeling down in their current life and feel lost as a result of it all.
For those readers who have an interest in mindfulness, meditation, healing, and a deeper meaning of the world, this book is certainly for you. Though, I also feel that this could open the minds of any individual including those who may be intrigued by the thought of it all but weren’t exactly sure where to start on their journey of knowledge. Diane Marie Taylor has a way of writing which feels as though she is speaking directly to the reader while articulating her thoughts with such depth and passion.
As Taylor explained in the very first chapter, “We are souls with bodies, not the other way around.” And while we are in our current, physical world, each of us individually have our assignment of what we are meant to accomplish while we are here. It is a beautiful way to view life, and takes away the burden of feeling like a failure when things don’t go your way. This gives you a completely different viewpoint on it all and is certainly a breath of fresh air. With soul-stirring revelations and practical insight, this book is an essential guide for anyone seeking to understand their spiritual mission in a deeper, more meaningful way.
