Often when I read a non-fiction book specific to one subject, I find myself getting to the end and realizing that the summation wraps up beautifully what the author has been trying to impart. That happened for me in this book with author Lucien Bracquemont’s discourse on political correctness. In his ending statement he writes, “I am convinced that PC is a counterfeit of social justice and equality and having virtually no positive potential for eliminating poverty and other social evils effectively. Political Correctness is a serious moral and philosophical error.”  Having said this, read the entire book because the author has some fascinating insights leading up to and supporting his conclusions. His premise regarding political correctness is that the “nature of a movement that loudly proclaims to represent ‘equality for all; … is instead highly classist, highly authoritarian.”

So, how did he come to his understanding of the perils of political correctness? His ideas were formed both as a college, as well as a seminary student where he discovered firsthand what he labels the “PC Elite,” an oppressive patriarchy. In his own words his motives for writing this book “include a concern for true freedom, true social justice, and true equality for all, rather than the corruption of these concepts by PC.”

From the author’s perspective, the issue rests on the concept that the male dominated PC Elite are responsible for promoting the women’s liberation movement by manipulating feminists, indoctrinating professors through anti-intellectual methods and, in general, perpetuating psychological, mental and emotional abuse. He purports that these are “counterfeits of social justice and equality.”  There’s a lot to unpack in this book. The author readily admits he is a “survivor of this oppression” and that writing this book was stressful; he identifies as autistic and “attributes much of my mental illness to PC and its dangerously anti-intellectual methods.”

Mr. Bracquemont writes persuasively and clearly has spent considerable time researching and formulating his opinions. While he is critical of so much which encompasses the politically correct crusade he does offer a positive solution. He writes, “Hope for the human race is the second coming of Christ,” in partnership with his belief that there should be a reconstruction in Christianity, defined as “a holistic approach to Jesus and the Gospel and the New Testament, apart from a cultural bias.”

There is much to digest in this unique viewpoint on political correctness. If you are intrigued by new perspectives on controversial subjects, this book offers many valuable insights.  This book invites readers to critically examine where freedom of thought ends, and indoctrination begins. Additionally, it examines how political correctness has evolved from social courtesy into a mechanism of intellectual control. The Politically Correct Totalitarian Indoctrination Camp of 1984 Exposed is essential reading for anyone concerned about free speech, personal liberty, and the future of open dialogue.
