What at first seemed to me as a children’s action-adventure book based on its title, upon opening Super Faith Spi-net Girl: Web of Wisdom, the poetic prose and faith-based messaging within made it clear how author Donna Ricketts scribed a book of prayer-like instructions on how to follow His guidance. Each page powerfully articulates the best practices of how to live life within the purity of thought and a humble following of the many Biblical messages.
After an introductory poem expressing the love of God, the author lists 7 rules of behavior to readers who wish to have a deeper relationship with God and become better “sisters” to others. Set in a tone of speaking to youngsters, the characteristics include being trustworthy; respecting musical instruments and other equipment; taking responsibility for learning but do accept help and guidance; among others healthy character traits. She then tells the story of the Spi-net girl who was blessed with the power of Christ by the Holy Ghost. The Spi-net girl morphed from a horrible little sinner who felt isolated and lacked friends, to a healthy, strong girl through the Miraculously bestowed power of God. Becoming empathic by listening to others’ problems and showing genuine concern by offering love and prayers becomes the quest for Spi-net wisdom which is the goal of all young readers of this creative and unique book.
It is clear how Miss Donna Ricketts has shaped her life with the examples and wisdom gained from the Bible. Her writing reflects a true and unambiguous faith in God and the ability to convey many of her morals to younger readers in the way a Bible school teacher or Sister would master. Super Faith Spi-net Girl: Web of Wisdom is liberally spaced with uncrowded pages of text as well as having a generous portion at the end of the book to allow for readers’ thoughts and inspirations to be written down. Because of having a work-book format, I do believe it would be best to own this book in the printed version. Whichever way this book is read, the messaging is the same reflecting on the wisdom of God and the power amassed by those who follow the teachings of the Bible. Through exciting adventures and meaningful lessons, this uplifting story weaves together action, faith, and purpose, reminding readers that true power comes from trusting God.
