Zoe S. Morgan’s Bible Believers Poetry is a collection of spirit-filled, prayerful poems captured in rhythm and verse that express the author’s personal journey as a believer of God and the scriptures. Her simple words are intended to offer faith, encouragement, and guidance for those seeking a greater connection to Christ.

Divided into four parts, the book opens with a piece entitled “Beautiful, Beautiful Invisible.” The focus here is clearly on God’s beauty, love, and spirit. Though an unseen entity, Morgan undoubtedly feels His presence and knows He is there. “Leaving You Is Not An Option” continues in this vein, as the emphasis remains on believing in God regardless of what others may think. No matter the trials and tribulations the author may go through, she will never leave God. The entry “Bible Believers” speaks of fellowship, prayer, and acceptance for all. The sentiments are showcased by a drawing of hands folded in prayer.

Part two is noted as the Plain Christian Poetry Series. In this section the verses speak of a supernatural God rebuking demons, lying, and injustice. Highlights are in leaving old ways behind and moving forward in a positive direction. Working and giving of your time to help to heal, and obeying God is a small sacrifice for good health, mental wealth, and fellowship. In “Thank You God, Thank You”, initially non-rhyming lines offer thanks for God’s love, protection, trust, understanding, and blessing. The second section of the poem presents rhymes within each line for a steady, positive beat, i.e. “Thank you God for the fight you do, you brought me through, I feel anew! Obeying you. “No!” is a simple declaration of saying no to bad influences, whether it be lies, drinking, getting high, or sexual thinking.

Part three, designated as the Spirit-filled Lover’s Series, defines love as a complex emotion where we love children, spouses, pets, friends, and God in vastly different ways. Here love is professed to God in both two-line rhyming patterns, and freestyle.
In the final contribution of the “Women Scorned Series,” Morgan points out the error of selfish and lusting ways. The need is to run from a sordid past, not lose your spirit, and to let God be true in you.

Morgan’s overall writing style is in free verse. There seems no set format as poems are varied using two-line, three-line, and four-line rhyming patterns. Living in the foundation of scripture, in her own walk of Faith, Morgan knows the challenges we face as individuals of God. Here through words and poetic verse, she shares her experience and insights of hope for all those seeking a closer relationship with God. In one of her final quotes Morgan offers up this heartfelt message that appears to summarize the book’s intentions. “Faith that transcends is a human likeness of God.”
