The beauty of the world is in the various cultures which populate the Earth, for as the
saying goes, variety is the spice of life. Getting to understand and experience different
cultures for yourself and seeing the world through someone else’s eyes is a true gift that
gives a person the ability to truly understand someone else’s perspective on life itself.
This also applies to various religions and belief systems, and the great thing is when
various belief systems can find common ground and come together for a new way of
seeing things.

In the book Atma Vidya: Glossary Esoteric from Gladiolus Publishing, the world of
esoteric studies and gnostic belief systems come together in a vast volume of terms
which explore various cultures and belief systems and how they contribute to the
greater idea of Gnosticism. Exploring both how esoteric studies work and the definitions
of some of these gnostic concepts (both mythological and religious alike), the book
looks to educate others on Gnosticism and the principals of that particular belief both
historically and in the New Age of Spiritualism.

A truly wonderful and educational read, the book does a splendid job of giving a
complete and whole glossary of gnostic, esoteric and even mythological words that help
expand upon the history and various cultures of the world. What stood out immediately
was how vast the definitions and words ranged from, exploring the ancient city of Egypt
dedicated to cats and its connection to the god Bast, to the practice of Electro, which is
when a dying person exhales their last breath, casting an electro psychic design of their
personality and imprint that onto an impregnated egg that will ensure that person’s next
life will be similar in personality development to their last, which speaks to the idea of
reincarnation.

For anyone who enjoys non-fiction books, especially those which delve into religion &
spirituality, culture development, educational books and esoteric practices, this is the
perfect book. The straight-forward nature of the book and the terms found within are eye
opening and delve into the hidden nature of the Universe. Since the discovery of
quantum physics and the importance of energy in the cosmos, it has become
fascinating to see how different cultures embrace this idea and explore how this
information impacts their own faiths. The variety and engaging nature of the book and
how it puts so much emphasis on different mythological views made this a compelling
book readers will not want to put down.
