Synopsis

The story is part fiction with real events of World War II. It spans ten years of courage and devoted friendship between two families surviving the terrible events of the global conflict and early postwar years. Londoner John Groves and an aristocratic German general, Ludwig Graf Von Klaus meet in unusual circumstances in 1940. Events take place after John and his family are ordered to make a propaganda film after the Germans invade Britain.

About the Author

Born in Hertfordshire in 1944, I had the dubious honour of being a war baby, with my formative years growing up in a London still being repaired and regenerated. I was married to Jan since 1970, and blessed with two sons and a daughter called Mark, Scott, and Clare. Always grateful for the privilege of being able to travel to many countries in the Far East and Europe, I was able to experience the various cultures of different nations that intrigued and fascinated and prompted me to write my first novel, The Film, after retiring from my work in 2015.
