As people grow and become older with time, how age impacts a person becomes a daily part of their lives. Being able to understand both the physical and mental impacts aging can have on a person’s body and mindset is an important part of life, and part of the journey is finding ways of staying active and living the best, most rewarding life a person can live.
It is that journey author Gary Chase captures in the book Boom, Baby, Boom! The book is a healthy journey for seniors and anyone getting older in life. Originally intended for baby boomers, the book is applicable to any generation finding themselves getting older, and is a guide not only to healthy dieting and exercise, but developing the right mental outlook on life and getting older to make sure a person is able to live the most fulfilling life they can, and maintain the balance needed to create that healthy atmosphere in their lives.
Immediately what becomes clear to the reader is how personable and relatable the author’s writing and experiences are. The honesty and the depth of detail the author provides readers, as well as the unique and creative descriptions and terminology the author creates not just for baby boomers, but for all generations and types of people. For instance when categorizing people either as short circuited, battery charger required, and efficient energy sources. The author also does a great job of going into great detail about the different types of workout equipment and how each one functions, such as how the back extension machine stretches out tight muscles in the back and through the glutes.
For any readers who enjoy non-fiction books, especially those which are focused on dieting, exercise, mental health and fitness, as well as self-care and personal transformation stories, this book will really resonate with them. The author’s straightforward approach to writing and speaking directly to the reader, as well as the balance between physical health needs and mental health needs for those who do everything from depression to anger and resentment, creates an environment in which readers feel connected and inspired by the author’s work and journey. The author even goes so far as to explore specific techniques like walking programs and how different nuts can impact a person’s physical dieting needs. If you ever have looked in a mirror and thought “who is that person?” seeing how aging is affecting you, Boom, Baby, Boom! would answer many questions.
