Pacific Book Review

In The Finished Mystery II, author James Hunta takes on the formidable challenge of presenting evidence about the truths of human existence and the creation of the universe. The book is a mixture of heady passages full of scripture from the Bible and the Koran compared to how Christianity and Islam have been taught to modern-day believers and the tensions between religious thought vs. actions taken in the name of religion. Woven throughout the book are the ongoing and highly relatable experiences of individuals and families. The reader gets to know two families very well and learns how their stories are intertwined and the undeniable interrelatedness of our world.

The author is a skilled writer who has obviously done extensive research on many complex topics and has an impressive knowledge of the Bible and the Koran, as well as world history and religion. James Hunta succeeds in entertaining the reader while educating at the same time. The book is full of interesting and well-developed characters involved in struggles seeking to answer the really important and challenging questions about life while uncovering truth.

The Finished Mystery II will appeal to a diverse group of readers. It would be enlightening and interesting for everyone to read who is concerned about the future of our world and troubled by the ongoing battle between good and evil. The author presents well documented but largely unknown connections between the various holy books. Reading this book is helpful to gain a better understanding of religion in general; specifically the similarities and differences between Islam and Christianity.

I found this book to be a very interesting and a thought provoking read. I have already recommended my friends and family read it in order for us to have a discussion. The Finished Mystery II is dense with information of which I intend to go back and review again; reading the passages about the Koran compared and contrasted with the Bible are fascinating. I have gained much knowledge and understanding about the Muslim faith from reading this, and it has inspired me to continue doing research to learn even more. I am also curious about The Finished Mystery I, as the author mentions it in the epilogue and I intend to learn more about it as well.

The Finished Mystery II is very well-written and organized. There are minor errors throughout the book which may detract from the readers’ experience, as the book would benefit from a light proofreading. Mr. James Hunta’s epic tale is a powerful book with intensity and thrilling scenes keeping the readers engaged and concerned about what will happen next. The story telling and characters are wonderful, and the big picture goal of the author to expand the readers’ knowledge and understanding of world religions and interpretations of religious foundations in order to explore truths about humanity is effective and masterful. I highly recommend this book for the reasons stated below.
