This book comes from a personal place as author Dr. Ron Pleune uses his real experiences as a foundation for this guide to understanding what more there is in the Universe. It all began in 1974 when young Pleune witnessed something he couldn’t understand and set out to find answers, leading him to discover Billy Meier’s story. The story changed how Pleune perceived everything, including faith. He has since written about these discoveries in previous works that draw upon The Kings List and understanding the Plejaren. Pleune is now a renowned ufologist who works alongside his wife and has committed his life to sharing this knowledge by working as the Founder and Director of Living Truth Fellowship.

God, the Grandest Illusion serves as a guide with a style that is lecture-based and has elements of personal opinion and experiences. A focal point in the guide is drawing connections between ufology and religion which serves as a basis for the content that Pleune breaks down. The book explores a range of topics pertaining to this concept, including human history, events in the Bible, and the theory of aliens. A key to Pleune’s structure is how all of these topics are linked together to draw connections, and therefore, draws deeper understandings about the world. There is a personal element to the book which comes from Pleune’s own journey with religion and what he witnessed that changed his perception of life. The guide aims to get to the root of this belief by dissecting the reality of ufology and religion, specifically how these two intersect.

The book has a well-organized structure which makes the different concepts being broached understandable with lists that make it easy to navigate. Broken into various sections per chapter, Pleune crafts this as a guide that can be an introduction or a search to explore things in a new way. Thi book is derived from facts and research as well as experience and belief, though never feels bogged down by these. Among the information you can expect are topics pertaining to religion, mental telepathy, the Law of Rightness, and truth. The book feels as if it is touching upon a grander purpose to shed light on those intrigued or wanting to know more. This includes drawing upon supporting research such as the Contact Report #721 and Billy Meier.

Evidence used to support the concepts presented delves into understanding our ancestry as mankind from a unique perception that highlights extraterrestrial influence. There is a comparison occurring throughout that takes what Pleune had believed in religion to what he believes now with a variety of inaccuracies, out-of-body experiences, repentance, and prayer incorporated. Several of these concepts overlap throughout the chapters with poignant themes which serve as catalysts to think deeper such as the idea of growth. Reality is a pertinent component to the overall message that Pleune is examining and presenting by literally challenging the ideals human beings have about the world with a specific look at religion.

God, the Grandest Illusion poses an answer to the questions about the world, using personal experiences, beliefs, research, and religion to create an introduction that serves as a place to start for those looking to dig deeper.
