There are often moments in a person’s life when a situation can get out of control.
When the world seems to be closing in on a person and leaving little room to breathe or
move around. In order to play defense, sometimes a person must first go on the
offensive to get themselves out of that trouble and find the means of escaping a
situation whole and intact.

In author Robert Sandilands In the Shadow of a Killer, the author explores the life of a
man who finds himself caught between two different mobs. The first he comes into
contact with after trying to save the life of his ex-girlfriend, and the other comes after
him when he begins combating the first. On top of that, a gunman is after his father,
putting the man in a tough situation. Relying on his military training, he must find a way
of not only disrupting but destroying the club operation the mob is operating out of and
stopping the madman after his father before he loses everything he holds dear.

A gripping, fast-paced yet detailed action-thriller, the author does a marvelous job of
capturing the heart-pounding adrenaline the story is meant to evoke. The honest
depiction of the ruthlessness and vicious nature of criminal organizations and the
criminals who often run them allowed the reader to sink deeper into the murky settings
of this narrative, and the authentic depiction of those often on the wrong end of those
violent encounters and the harsh lives they are forced to live will stay with readers long
after the book ends. The character development in this book was top notch, especially
that unique bond between the protagonist and his parents, and the history which has
brought this gunman into their lives. The unique UK settings will feel vibrant and alive as
the story progresses as well, giving a unique reading experience in the process.

Often a book will come along which balances the rich dynamics of its characters with a
heavy dose of action and thrills. Those seeking a novel that brings out that thriller and
suspense genre tone with the heart-pounding nature of an action and crime drama will
find themselves enthralled by this novel. The remarkable and heartfelt emotional
connection readers form to the protagonist and supporting cast, as well as the gritty
nature of the crimes themselves, will become ingrained in the reader’s minds as the
book’s climactic final moments come to an end.
