If you’re looking for a self-improvement book to help you jumpstart your commitment to better health, Life 2 the Full is well-worth a read. Author Raymond Floodgate is the proverbial sideline cheerleader, encouraging a change in lifestyle that encompasses guiding you to improved fitness and health by helping you to eliminate those things that adversely impact your ability to live life to its fullest.

A lifestyle change can be difficult to embrace; fortunately this book provides an outline on how to realign your behaviors and get to know yourself in a way which leads to an enriched well-being of your mind, body and spirit. In his own words Floodgate states, “Living life to the full means achieving, successfully, the activities that need to be completed and learned for that day.” Comprehensive commentary on these activities covers breathing, relaxation, exercise, food, sleep, longevity, abundance, money, God, peace of mind and lifestyle, with the premise that looking after your whole being is the way to living the life you want.

“Develop success by achieving your goals, not the goals of others,” is just one of Floodgate’s many motivational axioms. He encourages readers to understand by simply changing the way you think is a very good start to getting the lifestyle you want. Also we should not find somebody or something to blame for our troubles but take ownership of the responsibility for our own health and happiness.

The onus of change is, of course, on the reader, but Floodgate is an authoritative guide. As a longtime Reiki master, a Japanese relaxation philosopher, and teacher of energy healing, he extols the benefits of identifying and removing those unfavorable stumbling blocks which seep into our lives; such as stress, anxiety, fear, jealousy, anger and worry. Then replacing them by developing the power of positive thinking through tapping into the abundance the universe, brimming over with good things which are provided to all of us.

It can be a struggle to live life to its fullest. It means looking at the cause and effect of the lifestyle choices we make and jettisoning those that are destructive. It means identifying what’s at the root of frequent or ongoing illness and addressing the origin not just the symptoms. It means looking within and changing potentially longstanding behaviors and attitudes.

There is plenty of encouragement throughout this book to help you through the toughest moments. Floodgate reminds you to visualize the life you want and not take it for granted, but strive to change your life in ways to achieve what you focus upon. Life 2 the Full is easy to read, written in a straightforward manner with sincerity. Reading this is time well spent. As an afternoon with Floodgate will uncover how you can live your life to its fullest.
