The means in which people seek out the answers to their place in the universe and how things came to be had always been a dividing line that stokes the flames of conflict and disagreement amongst us all. While ancient philosophers and scientists throughout history have sought to root their faith in a higher power through scientific discovery, in recent years that fusion of faith and science has turned the line into a great chasm that seems almost impossible to cross.

In author Michael Markevich’s Light in a Dark Void: The Human Phenomenon, the author seeks to fill the void left between science and faith by exploring the true meaning of the “soul” through a scientific and philosophical journey. Exploring how the cosmos and stardust comprise human kind and the world we live in, the author wrote a book which feels like a cosmic guide-book to explore how the “soul” connects to the human body, and how the energies of the cosmos lead to the spiritual emergence that humanity has found.

The author definitely provided a thought-provoking read. The writing style really lent itself to both the philosophical, metaphysical, and scientific discussions the author brought to life on the pages in relation to spirituality and the “soul” that humanity has defined itself by for so long. The things the author touched upon throughout the book definitely expanded upon the metaphysical and paranormal fields a lot, from the concept of initiation to the impact that liminality has on the energies of the world, and the discover of dark matter within our universe as a whole. These concepts expand on the laws of physics as humanity knows them to exist and creates a discussion for the author to have, pushing critical thinking past its limits in the best way.

This is the perfect read for those who enjoy books on religion and spirituality, especially those which delve into the occult and paranormal fields of study and exploration, as well as philosophy, astronomy, and scientific pursuits. While definitely a weighty and mindful look into the world of spirituality, the way the author’s work pushes the reader to expand upon their inner-selves and embrace the power and energy of the “soul” in relation to humanity’s purpose in the Universe is inspiring.

Thoughtful, captivating, and engaging for the reader to really get lost in the author’s work, Michael Markevich’s Light in a Dark Void: The Human Phenomenon is a must- read book on spirituality and the paranormal. The author does an incredible job of pushing the limits of our understanding of the Universe and how spirituality impacts our lives in the cosmos, and gives the reader an idea of how much of the Universe remains yet to be discovered.
