Mr. Wysquers is a collection of interwoven stories about hard-won life lessons, possible redemption and second chances. The stories are relatable and designed to inspire readers in order to gain a new perspective and potentially impact lives by changing their direction in a more positive way.

Author Larry Auerbach masterfully crafts interesting and sympathetic characters to help tell the story of “Mr. Wysquers” and how the larger than life character helps people help themselves by shifting their perspective and motivating them to improve their lives and the lives of those around them. The stories are well written overall and compelling and encourage the reader to continue reading on to find out what happens next. The characters are well developed and multifaceted.

This book is suitable for all ages and would be beneficial reading for everyone. I can imagine it being a hit with book clubs and in support groups. It would be popular for readers who enjoy being inspired and reading self-help/self-improvement types of books. I enjoyed reading this book and discovering how they would each meet Mr. Wysquers and what would happen next. I especially enjoyed the food vendor’s story and how the related characters developed and changed.

Overall, the impact of repeating each character’s description of Mr. Wysquers and his vehicle using the same exact words could be balanced with a more gradual reveal of him or more clues woven into the stories and some added variety. The beginning of the book has just a few sections where proofreading is necessary, but as the reader continues, the errors become more frequent and more distracting. The proofreading process would make the book highly readable and enjoyable for readers.

Reading Mr. Wysquers will inspire hope and encourage perseverance. The book is great for fueling the imagination and restoring faith in the power of beginning with just one positive change.
