The ultimate question a person must ask themselves at one point or another in their lives is what the true path forward is for them. For some, that answer comes from the simple yet rewarding life of family, friends, a good job, and enjoying what life has to offer. For others, they find that path through faith and religion and following the tenants which their faith asks of them. Yet in recent years, more and more people have found themselves turning to the metaphysical side of life, exploring the connections between the physical and spiritual worlds. Questions such as the nature of time and space, free will and its reality, and even the question of a true “multiverse” have all become real topics of discussion which have become equal parts science and equal parts philosophy.
Through this lens, author Randy Higgins, Ph.D., takes readers on a metaphysical journey through an apocalypse and to the other side in the book Salvo. The book, written on a phone breathlessly during a state of extreme meditation known as Samadhi at the height of the 2020 pandemic, brings a series of aphorisms from what the author describes as “ourselves in the future.” The book is a series of messages from those who have survived the cataclysm we are currently living through, and through these self-realizations hopes to help others make it through to the other side as well to the New Earth and in the end, embrace the equal parts terrifying and equal parts unique Self.
Ultimately, this was quite a profound and moving read. The way this book is formatted and laid out for the reader is so fascinating, with each page containing a series of messages the author was able to connect with during this meditative state. The philosophical insight this book offers was phenomenal, allowing me to look honestly at topics ranging from sex and psychology to the true nature of extraterrestrials and the idea of the next world being a place where all dimensions exist all at once. The idea that we are an exploding universe, and that the reality we find ourselves surrounded by is a mirror reflecting aspects of ourselves is mind-blowing and gives the readers new insights into themselves.
Over the course of this book, readers who engage with and enjoy non-fiction books that delve into philosophy, science, meditation, metaphysics, and theoretical sciences will find themselves drawn further and further into the author’s shared visions. The way the author can tackle heavy subject matter and tough topics such as an apocalyptic view of the future with clarity and humor is refreshing and insightful. The messages themselves are presented as very straightforward, engaging, and yet leave plenty of room for interpretation and give readers the opportunity to self-explore their own minds and understandings of the universe, or even the multiverse and their other selves if they are so inclined.
