Joseph is an average high school student.  His time is spent focusing on preparing for college, or finding a job, but mostly gaming with his best friend; Eric.  Everything he knows changes when he receives a special invitation that opens his eyes to a reality he never could have imagined.  Now he is being pushed toward a destiny he knows he isn’t ready for.  The idea of real magic, fantasy lands, and dangerous creatures are all things you read about in books, or watch in movies and video games, but in real life?  That’s not possible.  If he walks away from it all, will the ancient power awaken and threaten the world he knows?

Secrets of The Sealed Forest captures the reader’s attention with adventure and humor right from the beginning.  Author J. T. Tenera sets Joseph up as a character who would be easy to get along with, one that readers can see themselves being friends with.  J. T. Tenera obviously knows his target audience well, and has brilliantly crafted a novel which will leave readers craving for the next installment.   Secrets of The Sealed Forest is a well-crafted novel that combines video games and magic to present his readers with a story filled with adventure, peril, and imaginative fantasy lands we can only dream of visiting.

This novel takes the time to introduce the characters and their relationships; J. T. Tenera takes time not only for the protagonist, but also for the antagonists and to develop the plot in a way that is never boring or a struggle to read.  Adult readers can easily find themselves reminiscing about their time playing video games and wishing to be in that fantasy land, well Joseph Erift’s story shows us to be careful what we wish and things may not always be as they seem.  This is a delightfully fun book to read.

This coming-of-age tale is filled with lessons on self-discovery, growing up, and learning to believe in yourself.  While this book is perfect for anyone 8 – 14 years old, readers of all ages would thoroughly enjoy the adventures Joseph Erift finds himself in. This book deserves a notable rating to find its way onto readers’ bookshelves everywhere. Readers will be hungry for more from this marvelous writer, and it is easy to see this quickly becoming a bestseller.
