Today we have the pleasure of being with Shirley Smith, author of the Religion and Inspiration title Treasure From Heaven.
PBR: When did you decide to write this book?
In 2012 God led me to write about the lessons he had taught me over the years.
PBR: Aside from the Bible, what other writings play an important role in your faith’s development?
Bible study books and faith-based autobiographical writings are both favorites.
PBR: There is no question on the depth of your faith, but can you kindly tell us how, over your lifetime, your faith deepened?
My faith has deepened through regular attendance at a Bible-based church, regular Bible study, and an emphasis on obedience to the Word of God in my life.
PBR: Faith and God’s will play an important part in your life. How do you determine the free choice you are given by God?
SS:I realize each day that I have free choice to live or not to live by the Word of God. But what has happened within me is what happens within each of us, by God’s grace, when we submit to God, invite him in—it’s becomes way we truly want to live.There is no other choice.
PBR: What would be you greatest reward from writing Treasure From Heaven?
SS:My greatest reward would be that the book help one person to decide to seek God and to live for Him, to allow God to make life meaningful and exciting as he has done for me and for so many others.
PBR: Are you currently working on another book?
SS:No.I’m waiting for God’s leading.
