J. Snyder’s Little Window Visits: On Lindenpopper Lane is an early-reader Christian book which sparkles with incredible values and lessons that will leave your child looking at relationships with other people differently.

With illustrations by Jason Velazquez, the story takes readers down memory lane of the 2019 Covid pandemic, when coronavirus forced people to isolate, with windows becoming portals through which they greeted, mourned, read, loved, sang, celebrated, and even wed. The protagonist, Little Tommy Tillford, is about to encounter amazing lessons from the pandemic after his baseball hits the pane of a tiny cottage window on Lindenpopper Lane.

Shaken by the thought of a harsh reprimand from his parents, Little Tommy begs the owner of the cottage not to inform them of his actions, to which he receives the most astonishing response, “My role in this world is to exhibit God’s love, with kindness and forgiveness toward you.” Suddenly, fear is lifted from his heart and is immediately replaced by a deep sense of warmth as he gets invited by the cottage owner for a little learning walk while looking at the many windows up and down the village streets and around the village square.

The protagonist is treated to a deeply illuminating talk, from which he learns why he should do to others as he would have them do to him. He also realizes the importance of patience, as well as the need to cherish each season, believing that God made them all. His encounter with Grandma Esther who resides at the Mercy Care Home has him convinced everyone needs to feel loved and cared for, and the smallest gesture of kindness goes a long way to make people feel better regardless of their age.

Written for children of ages 6-8 years old, the plot has been skillfully structured like a fairy tale and is pretty easy to follow. Carefully selected Scriptures match the emotions of this enlightening read and ably deliver a clear picture of the ultimate love and reprieve found when one comes to believe in and follow in the footprints of Jesus Christ.

From incorporating a quick opening which grabs a reader’s attention to providing a satisfying conclusion, author Snyder has managed to offer a read that tells a story kids will love, parents won’t wait to buy, and teachers will want in class. Little Window Visits: On Lindenpopper Lane is a page-turner you don’t want your little ones to miss!
