Temple of Eternity:  Bobby Ether Series Book Two is the second installment of Bobby Ether’s adventures; in it Bobby and his cousin Jinx travel into the heart of the rain forests of Guatemala to save their friends from the Core.  The Core is seeking to unlock the secrets to immortality, by finding the Fountain of Youth hidden within an ancient Mayan temple.  As the boys tap into their extraordinary abilities and begin this journey, they will fulfill a centuries-old prophecy.  The boys only have each other as the fight against everything from supernatural forces to fearsome beasts, and ruthless mercenaries who can conjure your deepest darkest fears.  The power of eternity teeters on a fine line as past and present now collide.  If Bobby cannot lay the Temple to rest by fulfilling the prophecy, he and his friends will be lost within the Temple of Eternity forever.

Author R. Scott Boyer take young adult fantasy and blends it with spiritual fiction to create something which is unique and interesting.  This second installment of a series, picks up right where the first leaves off, but it seems you can read this novel without reading the first.  It is a fast-paced book focusing on a 17-year-old boy and his mission to save his friends.  There are plenty of hidden doors, riddles, great escapes, near death experiences to keep a young reader interested and engaged with the story.  It is a really fun book to read.  A great change from some heavier books out in this genre.

One of the great things about this novel is that Bobby keeps learning and growing as the story progresses.  He is not a one-sided character, giving the readers the time to grow with him.  It is easy to fall in love with the characters within this book. Bobby is a main character that is relatable.  Readers can see themselves being friends with or even being him. I can easily see readers being on the edge of their seat as they progress through the story, needing to know what will happen next.  The plot is strong as Boyer seamlessly builds his world and characters.

While this book is geared towards young adult readers, fantasy lovers of all ages will enjoy this fast paced, action packed book.  Bobby Ether has the ability to gain the same popularity as Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson.  If you enjoy YA fantasy or have a young reader looking for something exciting, then the Bobby Ether series is the perfect series for them to begin.  Get a copy for your shelf today.
