In turbulent times when it seems as if the entire world is divided on many issues, it is of utmost importance for us Americans to come together as one to fix our problems. In the new book The Strength of a Nation, author Luisa Mirella Plancher provides well thought out plans to “Make America Great Again.” She thinks the strategies that were implemented following 9/11, from diplomacy to Middle-Eastern intervention, are not going to fix international relations. She believes that only using religious ideologies will help us restore peace, in not only the United States of America, but throughout the world. She asks the question; doesn’t everyone look for a source of higher thinking?

From famous politicians to experienced philosophers, we all listen to somebody’s ideology and try to live our lives based on their teachings. The author cites Jesus Christ and the Bible as the prime sources of wisdom in her life, as well as many other people around the world. She writes that, in order to fix this divide we have with political parties, we need to live based on the teachings of God. Unlike some writers, author Plancher explains her ideas with many examples gained from her experience. She doesn’t blindly follow these strategies; she lets them infiltrate every aspect of her daily life. She believes a nation cannot be strong if it doesn’t have faith and belief in God.

Her ideas for making America great again range from simple changes to possibly radical modifications. For example she writes about closing off the Southern border with a “great wall” – an idea made popular by our current President Donald Trump. Both our President and the author believe building a taller and stronger wall will decrease incidents of illegal immigration imbalance, drug smuggling, violence and crime. Additionally, author Plancher also writes about how the Jewish and Arab communities need to go back to their roots of co-existence. She writes about her ideas in a way which is easy to read and understand; great for readers who may not know much about politics.

No matter what topics or ideas the author is writing about, she always backs them up with appropriate anecdotes and relevant facts. She also never throws out an idea without completely fleshing it out. This is a great read for anyone who is worried about the current state of the world. Filled with logical and wondrous ideas, this book is easy for anyone to understand and get behind, from a political novice to a political hound dog. If you want to read a book that connects politics with higher, spiritual thinking, and bring relevant cultural understanding to the way the world has changed, this is the book for you.  The Strength of the Nation peels the onion on the political coinage of “Make America Great Again.”
