The novel does an amazing job of drawing the reader in immediately. A wide cast of characters and story elements present a layered and mythological tale which blends the sorcery of the fantasy genre, the mind-blowing themes of the sci-fi genre, and the heart and warmth many feel from modern belief systems. The inclusion of historical figures as characters within the novel was an inspired choice, as it helps add a sense of legacy and gravitas to the mythology of the story.

This is the perfect read for those who enjoy fantasy, science-fiction and romance novels with a religious twist on the narrative. As a fan of these genres, it was easy to get engaged and deeply involved in the novel’s plot, and the rich tapestry of story elements, from gritty magical fights to those of time travel and deep dives into history itself; all makes this a truly memorable read.

Fast-paced, entertaining and both emotionally-driven and mythological in scale, author Wynn Stevenson’s The Way’s Favorite is a fantastic first book in a new fantasy and sci-fi series.
