Being able to apply the scientific method to the events the planet is experiencing and better understanding the Universe as a whole is an essential part of human nature, and helps to answer some of the world’s biggest challenges.

One such challenge is the global effort to stop climate change. In author Herbert A. Hutchinson’s The Big Picture of Climate Change on Planet Earth, the author showcases an in-depth and detailed look at the scientific method and how to apply it to the global climate crisis which we are facing. Using this process, the author connects events such as rising temperatures, extreme weather changes, and the need for global cooperation to help curb these events before it is too late.

Aside from the insight the book provides on climate change, the level of detail and knowledge regarding the scientific method and how it can be applied to scenarios such as this was perfectly done. The depth of research the author provided was self-evident from the very first page and delved into everything from 18th century practices that impacted our current conditions to the tragic and real-world results of climate change, such as the Valencia mudslide, all paint an all too powerful image of climate change in the reader’s mind. This book may be its own inconvenient truth.  Herbert A. Hutchinson breaks down complex environmental concepts into clear, accessible insights. From rising global temperatures to shifting ecosystems, this informative guide equips readers with the knowledge needed to grasp the science, impacts, and future of our changing world.
